Hey I am Mayur an 18 year old attempting to explore this world through the lens of a photographer. I love wildlife, nature and birds especially.
I am a student in Bengaluru who found passion for photography after I had to move houses to an outskirts of the city where I got to see and explore a lot of nature.
After my parents bought me my first phone I fell in love with it's camera. I started of taking photos of praying mantis, spiders and many other small insects. Slowly I started learning a lot about these insects and unknowingly I had fallen in love with it. Soon later I got a chance to use my uncles old Sony point and shoot which opened up the world of photography for me.
The rest is history :)

These are some of my favorite subjects as they are professionals at posing. The Malabar Pit viper happens to be one of my favorite snakes which is shown here. Click on the picture to see more snake pics.
Many people fear snakes while I find them to actually be very calm creatures. Take the Pit Vipers as an example, they have immense patience for hunting. They sit in one position for hours waiting for their prey to come close to them. They also happen to be very very important for the ecosystem for maintaining the food web's balance.
This is some of my landscape, sky and nighttime photography mostly done in the golden hours.
I am a big fan of golden hour photography as subjects tend to look warm and vibrant while at the same time the subjects interact with the light really well to form beautiful silhouettes and shadows.
Another category in the same field is long exposure shots which really amazes me! I have tried to work with fireworks, stars and moving vehicles to capture some shots.
Here are some other interesting creatures. Here in this picture is the Indrella Ampulla a snail species found in the western ghats section of India. Click on the picture to see more pictures of other creatures.
These are creatures that got me first interested into photography. There are just so many species of birds that it's incomprehensible. They are just so diverse and have so many characteristics that it never stops to fascinate me.
I never really thought of birds as "interesting" or "fascinating" growing up. This completely changed in mid 2023 when offline school had finally commenced (After Covid-19 pandemic) and I got a fresh start to explore birdwatching with my 4 classmates and Chayant who were heavily invested in birdwatching.
It started of as morning birdwatching sessions every week and soon I found myself having the hunger to grab my camera and go out by myself as well. This interest led me to develop a better understanding of the sanctuary in school that I had lived in for 11 years, but now I had a better understanding of it than I possibly ever could have. Having a camera changed my perception of nature. It forced me to observe, to be patient and also be the driving factor in pushing me to travel and explore different locations.
Currently I use a Sony DSC-H100 point and shoot camera to capture all of my images. I also use my Redmi 9 phone to capture a few images. I use Adobe lightroom to edit all my photos and it has been working great. Although I am a big fan of opensource applications so I am slowly transitioning into a software called Darktable. I have also recently been given a Nikon Coolpix P900 by Chayant so shout out to him!
